Isabel Garcia-Rose

"Glowing", "entrancing" and "heartwarming" are words often used to describe Ms. Garcia-Rose’s performances.  A versatile performer with a warm generous stage presence, audiences are entranced by her performances as "LadyBug" in LadyBug: Action Hero, "Liberty Bell" in Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes pas de deux and "Titania" in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  She is at her best in expressive roles such as Afternoon Of A Faun or A Streetcar Named Desire.  Though petite she is a powerful dancer that is fearless in contemporary pas de deux work such as that in Incertezza or Bolero.  Born in Cuba, she spent many years in Spain before settling in Miami, Florida.  She studied with and became a member of Ballet Concerto performing in Giselle, Swan Lake, Le Bayadere and Le Sylphide.  She joined the Company in 1989.  She received her BFA in dance at U of F, and an MFA from  FSU.   Ms. Garcia-Rose is a faculty member of the UF Theatre Department teaching classical ballet.  Ms. Garcia-Rose spent the 94-95 season as a member of the Demetrius Klein Dance Company touring Florida and the Mid-West before rejoining the Company. Ms. Garcia-Rose is a favorite of choreographers; selected for leading roles by Gerard Ebitz in Ghosts, David Sutherland in Hamlet and many others.
