Eivar Martinez

DANB is pleased to welcome Mr. Martinez for its 2009-2010 season. Trained at the Ditirambo Ballet School and National Ballet School of Caracas in Caracas, Venezuela, Mr. Martinez soon accepted a position with the National Ballet of Caracas under Artistic Director Vincente Nebrada where he was featured in Nebrada’s Coppelia, Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet and Balanchine’s Tchaikovsky Pas De Deux. Mr. Martinez left Venezuela and joined Tulsa Ballet where he was featured in Michael Smuin’s Romeo and Juliet, Paul Taylor’s Company B, Balanchine’s Who Cares? and Agnes de Mille’s Rodeo among others. Mr. Martinez comes to DANB from Festival Ballet Providence where he was featured in Spring Waters, Le Corsaire, Diana & Action, Don Quixote, Carmen, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Rodeo and Anthony Tudor’s Leaves Are Fading. Mr. Martinez is married to dancer Heather Martinez..
